How to be sincere when opening presents?

Christmas is coming. I'm really not looking forward to opening my gifts in front of everyone. It's so embarrassing and cringey. Any tips to make the experience less painful?

    Dear Creg,

    All one need do is say thank you, how thoughtful, I love it, I'll certainly be able to use this, etc. etc. etc. Is that so bad?

    I used to feel the same way but as I got older I learned to just be thankful that I got anything at all.
