Will abortion ever be legal?
Granted that a baby isn't really alive until its born; if you don't have the abortion,
it will be born alive and grow up to be like you, right?
Should the man and woman who are responsible for the restricted birth or abortion of a child be put in jail?

A baby is alive before its born! It has feelings at about 3-4 months! And i think aborttion is okay before te baby feels anything. But it shouldn't be the first choice. I think it should be legal to those who were raped or pregnant at ages 12-18 ONLY if the baby is under 4 months. Otherwise it's just wrong. People shouldn't choose life or death for someone who's never had a voice yet. And I think after 4 months pregnant, if they get an abortion it should be 1-6 years in jail.

Abortion is legal.
However, a baby is alive well before it's born. Not only is it alive, but it's viable. That means if you performed a caesarian on a woman pregnant for 8 months and took the baby out, odds are it'd live. Seven months: It'd live. Six months: Still, odds are it'd live. And the pro-lifers point out that it's "alive" (though not able to survive on its own) well before that.
Even if you support abortion, you can't get off the moral hook by arguing that the fetus isn't alive.

The Bible says that if a man accidentally hits a pregnant woman that results in the death of her child, the man is to be put to death. Although Christianity is not established as the state religion, the origin of the U.S. is based on Judeo/Christian morality. Without Christian beliefs, the original 13 colonies would never have declared independence. If this country abandons all Christian morality, then it will surely fall apart.
Abortion is currently legal in every state according to this About.com article:

The number of deaths caused by mothers murdering their unborn child exceeds the number of deaths for any other cause. Though legal, it is still a sin. It will always be a sin.

Will it ever be legal? It is legal. If you meant to ask will it ever be illegal, than thats a bigger questions to answer. My guess is no. So long as the arguments are poisoned by religious beliefs and zealots then i doubt the pro life group will ever make a serious case for the overturning of our current abortion laws. This is unfortunate because there are some serious humanist and philosophical cases that could be made against abortion, but they wont be brought into a discussion dominated by radicals.

How long should a man and woman goto jail for, the crime of producing a child. That they cannot afford or raise to be civil and responsible. Whats the bigger crime a few dead cells or a large leach on society.
