Why does parents hate anime, But don't hate regular cartoons?

well my parents dont hate it...they think its the same as tom & Jerry

I think some parents hate anime because it is cartoons which are from a totally different country that has a very different culture and they might see it as 'weird' whereas they are used to other cartoons like 'Tom and Jerry' or 'Loony Tunes'. Also they might hate anime because of the fact that generally they are more violent then most other cartoons around the world and they tend to have kind of confusing storylines to get your head around.

Some can also be a little pervy so some parents immediately don't approve, but then again it might be just because you showed them a bad episode or bad anime... Basically there are a lot of reasons why parents might hate anime, but if your parents do don't feel too down. :)

~I say it's weird that some don't like Anime, but they probably either:

But like there are ups and downs in all things, they're are many 'ups' to Animes...So Less haters, many lovers , and countless Anime Freaks x'D

My parents don't like anime because they still see it as foreign, whereas "regular" cartoons are not.

Because they don't think anime is 'culturally appropriate' for people in the west.

They might say it in different words, but I suspect that's usually what it comes down to.

Not all parents dislike it my dad could care less he doesn't hate it just doesn't know much about it my mom loved watching it with me too

Some confuse it with hentai.

Because anime is ****** stupid and wierd and doesnt make sense half the time.
