I cant talk to my dad?!?
so i was on the phone to him a few mins ago cos i havent seen him in 2 years and everytime im on the phone to him its so awkward and theres nothing to say,my mum wont let me see him amd the convo on phone was. lytrally like this

dad:erm so did you het the present
me:ye thanks
dad:ye sorry i didnt get owt to expensive
me:s'ok
5 seconds silence
me:ermm so h...(couldnt think)
dad:*coughs*
me:is georgia ok?
dad:yea shes fine
me:or right...
5 secs silence....
dad:did you get her a card
me:oh ermm no err well i will?
dad:*silence*...... its ok
silence................
and there were just so many silent moments.
it was worse than ive explained,not even sure what my question is tbh but it feels like i hardly know my dad...since i was nine i hadnt seen him cos my mum and dad fell out over maintenence,they werent together anyway,they split when i was 3 but i always went on holidays but i saw him wgen i was 11 but now im 13 and havent seen him for 2 years...i feel like my dad's a stranger!!
i dont think he doesnt like me cos he's trying to get my mum to let me down there and hes the one who calls me! :)
its not as easy as just going to see him every 3 weeks cos he lives 6 hours away! he doesnt exactly live round the corner

Maybe ask him why it's so awkward?

Now that you are thirteen you can request that you see him you can ask your dad if it is okay to see him like every 3 weeks because you feel there is not a strong bond and you would really like to have a father daughter relationship you are now old enough to make your own stand and get to know your dad your mother will not like it but tell her you only get one mum and one dad in life and you love both no matter what they think of each other sort is out or it will become even more awkward with time i feel for you it must be so hard but it is also so hard for your dad your all growing up he don't k now what girls your age talk about so see it from his angle as well

Talk with him more often and update him on your life and the words will begin to flow easier. i would think it would be his job to do that,. but ,you can build a relationship with him by speaking to him more often.

try i have not spoke or seen my parents in 4 years still hurst i sent a gift and they returned it unopened
