Can there be two different Operating Systems (XP and Win 8) on the same hard drive?

If not, can you have two hard drives on a Toshiba Laptop computer or a Desktop for that matter? I do not like Win 7 or 8. I like my XP OS. Why did Microsoft fix something that was not broken?

Yes you can have two operating systems (Windows XP and Windows 8) on one hard drive. You would have one hard drive on your computer but you would need to create a partition on the hard drive. Think of it as a separate area on your hard drive. So you now have two drive sections.

Once you install Windows 8 on the partition in your hard drive you can select which operating system to go to when you first turn on and boot up your computer.

hi, If there is area for a 2nd hard disk on your laptop, then specific you may decide for the 2nd hard disk. basically open your laptop or use the person handbook. many times, you need to use 2 working systems in one device. throughout the time of bootup it is going to ask for which OS you will possibly prefer to apply for bootup. however the artwork consistency is somewhat uncertain, while Win 8 is loaded on XP. yet many times Win 7 is used as a base and then domicile windows 8 is loaded onto it.
