Can there be two different Operating Systems (XP and Win 8) on the same hard drive?

If not, can you have two hard drives on a Toshiba Laptop computer or a Desktop for that matter? I do not like Win 7 or 8. I like my XP OS. Why did Microsoft fix something that was not broken?

    There can be two operating systems on the same hard drive. It will simply ask you to select which one to start up in when you turn the computer on.

    It is possible to have two hard drives on a laptop or a desktop, but on a laptop is a little more difficult due to spacial limitations.

    Microsoft didn't really fix anything, they updated the software to make it more modern and sleek.

    Yes. It is called having a separate partition.
