Which of these best shows the stars in the decreasing order of the force with which Earth attracts them?
Three stars, Star 1, Star 2, and Star 3, are at almost equal distances from Earth. The table below shows the masses of the three stars.
Name of Star |||Mass of Star (in million solar masses)
Star 1
3.61
Star 2
18.59
Star 3
11.73
Which of these best shows the stars in the decreasing order of the force with which Earth attracts them?
Star 1 → Star 2 → Star 3
Star 2 → Star 3 → Star 1
Star 3 → Star 2 → Star 1
Star 3 → Star 2 → Star 1
That is what I got.. but I was confused. Thank you.

I'm impressed, that you actually asked this question...
The heavies star is star 2. It has the greatest gravitational effect on earth.
So it must be option 2 :
Star 2 → Star 3 → Star 1

The earth being a mere minuscule planet with less gravity than even the smallest of stars does not attract stars. The star with the most gravity would pull on the earth the most. Star 2, Star 3, Star 1

Star 2 → Star 3 → Star 1
Force of gravity is directly proportional to mass and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Bear in mind though that becuase the force gravity exerts on them is directly proportional to their mass their acceleration will be the same regardless of their mass.

Since distances are 'almost equal' it will be in order from most massive to least massive.
