New iPod Touch/iTunes question?

So I just got a brand new iPod Touch 5g today for Christmas but the problem is I plug it into iTunes and I hit sync and it goes through all the steps and once it gets to step 3 it tells me that it's waiting for changes to be applied.. What? Please help because I want to get my music on to my iPod!

    Hi. It's hard to tell what version of software it might have been shipped with. Chances are it's not the very most up to date version. So when you first connect it itunes updates everything on the ipod touch. Just let it run. It can take a while to update everything the first time.
