I every gun law is ineffective...?

Why don't we put the responsibility of keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals and the insane on the NRA? It's obvious that law enforcement or the politicians don't have any answers, so what do the 2nd Amendment advocates suggest? Other than arming everyone. Because I'm really tired of listening to gun advocates passing the buck.

Update:

Sorry. The question starts with "If".

Many schools in the US have police officers assigned to them aren't they the same as armed guards.....

In a not perfect world only the good guys would turn in their guns and we would be helpless and at the

mercy of the bad guys.Too bad we will never know if a police officer was assigned to that school how many lives could he have saved. Drugs and drunk driving have been against the law for years and that does not help.

We could use the money we give to countries that hate us,our children are more important!!

you just described what's in effect now. However, creating MORE gun regulations and laws will not help. They only affect law abiding citizens. What WILL help is creating severe punishments for violating the already existing gun laws. The existing laws have to have extreme punishments enforced that actually make people deterred from using a gun to commit a crime. Most criminals want to kill, rob and get away so they can get more money. They DON'T want to die,so,make murder a mandatory death sentence once convicted. No life in prison,NO jail time whatsoever except awaiting your trial and then the executioner. Ballistics and forensics is SO accurate anymore that conviction on evidence is MUCH easier and reliable. Once proof positive evidence has been confirmed and they have been convicted.Finish the game. Once criminals realize that dying is the ONLY way the game will end, they'll most likely think differently.Maybe not all because some DO have a death wish, but most don't.

Might be a different suggestion/opinion than your looking for but this is what i think needs to happen.

Mandatory gun safety classes in elementary and secondary schools. To show kids at a young developing age the dangers of guns and how to use them.

Security guards in schools and heavily populated public areas. You cant throw a public event/party with 50 or more people without having a security guard or officer present... why can schools get away with this?

Policies in place to prevent unstable people from obtaining firearms. This is a broad way of putting it esspecially with so many under the table sales being took place. But if they made laws preventing insane people from freely purchasing guns i believe it would clear a lot of issues up. I dont think they need to ban specific guns but ban potentially harmfull people from purchasing them.

As of now its a few dumb questions to buy a gun.

That is like having employers enforce the immigration laws its a stupid idea. The NRA is not the government Why don't you have parents teach there children to not steal, or kill just think if we trained people to respect the rights of other, and to value human life we would not need this argument at all now would we.

No one said that ever gun law is ineffective, you people cannot or will not listen with any amount of objectivity,

Here's the answer: grow a set of balls, manage your life disappointments and frustrations. Care enough about your fellow man not to take your angst out on the innocent. And if you won't , expect consequences. Harsh ones.

The NRA isn't responsible for enforcing the law. All they are is a lobbying group to protect peoples' Second Amendment Constitutional rights.

Does this mean Planned Parenthood can get in trouble every time some teenage girl gets an abortion in a basement by somebody with an unsterilized coat hanger when she can't get parental consent?

Outlaw guns and they'll be sold with less restriction in a back alley than what's on them in sporting goods stores now. Outlaw abortion and women will start DYING from getting the unsafe ones.

People who tell me they can't follow this analogy truthfully can; they just don't have a way to argue with me on it.

    They ARE effective.

They have a VERY CONSISTENT track-record of spreading more violence and death. That's WHY Democrats like YOU love them. That's WHY you personally demand the SAFEST places we have copy the DEADLIEST places we have; why you personally demand a 376% increase in the number of violent attacks and an 800% increase in the number of dead PER-attack.

No one's passing the buck. We're pointing out the LONG-PROVED results of doing what you demand. Now explain to your kids why you HOPE their school is just like Sandy Hook.

Is it because we don't do a good enough job of keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill or is it that we don't do a good enough job of dealing with the mentally ill?
