Which of these is Robotics mostly related to?
Im going for Engineering, for sure.. Ive keen interest in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Which of the below engineering degree should I pursue?
i) Mechanical Engineering
ii) Electrical Engineering
iii) Computer Science and Engineering
Please help!

wow, I'd say all three in various degrees. Mechanical Engineering in the design of moving parts, like robots in a car manufacturing facility. Electrical in the design/application of sensing elements, positioning, temperature, gyroscopes, accelerometers, all used in controlling movement and positioning of moving parts. Computer science also because you would need a HMI (human machine interface) to interface between all those mechanical parts/sensor and be able to control them the way you intend to...
whichever field you choose, be the best you can be, engineering is a very rewarding field. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Good Luck!!

For robotics the most likely answer is mechanical engineering but you must also remember robotics is in a specialized field of mechanical/electrical engineering you could also call Mechatronics. Mechatronics is basically all those engineering fields put in one to create possible products such as robotics, etc. For artificial intelligence computer science and computer engineering is the obvious route. Again artificial intelligence happens to fall again into another specialty in computer science so basically you must learn the basic concepts of each before being specialized into learning more. Good luck!

Well, ..., all three! The artificial intelligence aspect comes from computer science. However, the Electro-mechanical definitely embrace both electrical and Mechanical engineering

What is robotics?
Its a device which can follow our instructions or it is autonomous. its broadly devided into 3 parts-- Programing, Interfacing heardware, I/O parts.
In programing you may think we would need computer science but believe me its not the case ( CS ruled out). when i was working on my first robot, we were two members and other one was from computers (myself instrumentation) during programming i realised i no longer needed him as programing of most chips requires ASSEMBLY. Which has a steep learning curve and i took 3 days master it.
Interface is the electronic and sensory part where a good electronic knowledge is needed.
I/O is the output and input part. input is mostly electrical but output is mechanical containing motors, hydraulic system, control.
Yeah AI is very important as autonomous machine should learn from its mistakes.
To sum up elec mechanics is what we need popularly known as Mechatroncs. But All in all go for mechanics if you are intrested in robotics.

I prefer two fields. So Do B.E in computer science and Engineering and then
M.E in mechanical Engineering.
Source(s): So You will be a perfect Engineer in the field of robotics ! Good Luck Friend.
