Best realistic options for Jets QB?

What is the best realistic move for the Jets reguarding their QB situation? Do they stay with McElroy? Do they spend big on and sign a solid QB in the offseason? The only liable free agent QB will be Joe Flacco. Or do they sign a lesser known QB like Matt Flynn? Personally I think Matt Flynn is a great answer for the Jets. He is talented, he is experienced, and most importantly he is cheap. Buy or Sell the Jets getting Matt Flynn? If sell, then what should they do?

Update:

- Some people are saying Flynn will stay with the Seahawks. I highly doubt that. With the number of NFl teams looking for a quality starting QB right now why would Flynn want to stay with the Seahawks? He could easily land a starting job with another team.

Update 2:

- I NEVER said anything about Sanchez being traded for Flynn. Even if thats the case the Jets can add another player to the trade to make it possible. Flynn does not want to be in Seattle and the Seahawks know this and will take advantage of the situation. The Seahawks know teams will want Fylnn, so the Seahawks will take advantage of that demand for him and they most likely will trade him because he doesnt want to be there anyway. Sanchez and Shonne Greene for Matt Flynn? The Seahawks would take that in a heartbeat.

Matt Flynn is probably the best option for any team looking for a quarterback.

He's still an unknown quantity as a starter, and he did lose out to a rookie, but there just aren't that many options. The draft is a risk, McElroy is unproven, and I just don't think that Flacco can win without an incredible defense like the Ravens have always had.

Flynn is going to have his pick so it will be interesting. The Bears should seriously consider going after that guy. I've never believed in Cutler

There aren't any real good options. The best available QB will probably be Alex Smith, Ravens will probably not let Flacco hit free agency. They would have to trade for Flynn and he his contract isn't cheap. Sanchez's big contract also complicates things. Best they can do is draft a QB early and have him compete with Sanchez and McElroy. They would then look to upgrade at RB and WR.

I don't see why the Seahawks would trade Flynn for Sanchez. Sanchez is due 5 million more than Flynn next year. Why would the Seahawks pay 12 million for a back up QB?

Flynn is making 7 million next year which is a lot for a back up so I could see them getting rid of him. Though, Wilson is making close to .5 million, and 7.5 million for the starting and back up QB is relatively cheap compared to the rest of the league. Flynn still has 6 million guaranteed for the rest of his contract. Sanchez has over 8 million for next year.

    Best options:

    1. Trade Sanchez for Flynn

    2. Start Sanchez

    3. Start McElroy

    4. Draft a QB

    5. some other free agent QB

Sanchez contract is worse than Flynn's so a trade would be pretty dumb move by Seattle if that was made. If Rex Ryan was smart he'd just stick with Tebow for a while ,but that wont' happen either.

My bet is they go after Alex Smith and acquire him , it wouldn't be a bad move either.

Unless something other than Sanches would be included in the deal, that is a worthless trade for the Seahawks.

Matt Flynn. I'd prefer him over someone like Michael Vick or Alex Smith. I don't know the in-depth finances, but a Sanchez for Flynn trade seems like it'll make sense. They both have big contracts, so wouldn't it make sense for the Seahawks to just pay off Sanchez as a bench player for one year instead of having to pay Flynn the same amount for two years (double)? Again, I don't know the salary cap or finances or whatever, but that seems logical.

At AC: How much would they have to pay Flynn to warm the benches for two more years? He signed a 26 million, 3 years contract

Sanchez for Flynn? Please. Pete Does NOT want Sanchez on the Seahawks. He told him he's not ready for NFL and he didn't listen. Seahawks could use a WR for Flynn, though. I think Alex Smith would be good in a Jets jersey, though.

    they got

    Matt Flynn

    Joe Flacco

    Alex Smith

Flynn gets re-sign because with the chance of WIlson getting injured

    Joe gets tagged

Smith is FA because the niners want him to have a chance somewhere else

I agree with trading for Flynn. Then they need to upgrade the offense to give Flynn some weapons, maybe trade for Dwayne Bowe or if he becomes free agent then sign him that way.If the Patriots let Welker walk i see the Jets going after him. They also need a big time pass rusher on defense.

I would buy, as Matt Flynn may be the best legitimate option out there (Flacco will stay in Baltimore unless something odd happens). If they lose out on him, then they will be stuck on choosing between Alex Smith or Michael Vick.

If I am the Jets GM this is what I do:

I use my first pick in the draft on a WR.

I send a second round pick to get Kirk Cousins and his Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan and move Rex to the defensive coordinator only.

I use the draft to make sure my defense is good and use free agency to get a Guard.

I would preach a new philosophy to my team that was all about being blue collar working hard and staying out of the media.

This plan would take about three years to make this team a serious contender but at this point it is needed.
