Hey! CEDAR/PINE BEDDING IS EXTREEMELY BAD FOR HAMSTERS!!! Cedar/pine bedding contains a lot of dust which enters the hamster's respitorary system causing many health problems. When I first got my Long-Haired Syrian Hamster, Scout, last month from PetSmart, I made the bad mistake of purchacing Pine Bedding. For the week that I had the Pine Bedding, Scout was sneezing the entire day and was very fatigued. I soon switched to CareFresh (Uncolored + Unscented) and Scout seems to like it and is no longer sneezing 24/7. Some of the bedding that you can switch to is Aspen Fresh, Aspen Shavings, Aspen Pelleted Bedding, Carefresh, Cell-Sorb Plus, Critter Country, and Woody Pet. I would sugguest getting an UNSCENTED (the scents can irritate your hamster's respitory system) and UNCOLORED (if your hammy happens to eat the bedding, the coloring can be damaging to their health) bedding. Good Lucky with your new pet Hamster and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!:)
P.S. my hammie looks like this!!!

NO cedar or pine bedding would want for use for any small animals - inc hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, guinea pigs, and so on. the two cedar and pine contain severe stages of phenols, that are shown to reason the two respiration and liver ailment, that can ultimately be deadly. Small animals are perfect stored on paper based beddings such as Carefresh or Megazorb. Hemp based beddings (eg Aubiose) additionally are believed to be risk-free. in spite of the undeniable fact that, cedar bedding itself does not reason moist tail. moist tail is a syndrome believed to be brought about via a blend of countless infections and rigidity. it might desire to be the cedar affected his immune device and bigger his rigidity stages, exacerbating an underlying problem. regrettably the two cedar and pine proceed to be on the industry and everyday - probable because of fact they're low value and supposedly odor effective (won't be in a position to stand the odor myself).

Cedar and pine bedding are both terrible for any small pet. Both these woods contain a chemicals called phenols which can cause severe health problems, and even death, in small animals.
Aspen is a safe wood bedding to use. Find something with very little dust, nothing scented, and nothing coloured :) This is safest for your hamster.
