what "games" could i play with her?
my trainers friend is keeping her horse at my trainers house and i get to spend time with her. what are some fun things i can do with her? im going to be going to visit her two to three times a week and for however long i want. for the first time or two i was just going to groom her off, and let her get to know me. but then after that i was hoping to do something a little fun with her out in the arena. she is very old and cannot be ridden. what could i do? i was thinking of teaching her how to shake or give hugs or something but i just dont know. i was also thinking of setting up a little course with cones, ground poles, and anything else i could find. i was also thinking of one of those big ball things, but i dont know. i have never meet this horse before, so i dont know what she is like. what do you suggest? any answers appreciated! thanks and happy holidays(:

Get a jolly ball or a durable exercise ball and give it to her in the arena. (You can be in there too if you want to play "soccer"). In my experience, horses really enjoy stuff to explore. You could also give her a feeding tub, which smells like grain, a hula hoop though this could break easily. You could also try having her follow you around at liberty (without a lead rope). That's always fun. Your obstacle course idea is good too. :) Another one, set up barrels and put treats or carrot or Apple pieces on top of them and let her wander around the arena and find them and eat them. We do this with a few horses at our rescue barn and they really enjoy it. Hope I helped! Have fun!

Play the Parelli Natural Horsemanship seven games. (Search it up to find out what to do) They're great for getting your horse more interested and alert and will help your horse to respond better when riding. They're also a great way to improve your relationship with your horse :)

You can teach her to bow by having treats inbetween her front legs in the air and she should lean back to get it.
