Superscoring on the ACT test?

I'm 15 and a sophomore in high school. I, along with some classmates, took my ACT test a bit early (for our school, at least, where people usually take it during junior year), and I got my scores back today. I made a composite of 30, with a 25 in math, 30 in science, 31 in English, and 33 in reading. I'm over-the-moon thrilled with my score, and that is where my question comes in.

Is it possible for a superscore to lower your composite score? Our teacher really didn't explain what superscoring was, just that it's a compilation of all your scores from previous tests. I am seriously thrilled with a composite 30, and I'm worried that if I were to take the test a couple more times, my score might go down. Is that possible? Thank you so much.

Superscoring means putting your best ever score in each area and forming a new composite score from those 4. It is impossible for superscoring to hurt you, it can only give you the same or higher composite as a result (usually higher).

Please note that schools decide whether or not to allow superscoring, and when they do, they superscore (meaning they will still see entire sets of results for any date you want a score included from).

Retaking act or sat without guaranteeing overall improvement is always risky, even with superscoring. Always be sure your scores will go up, and at your level that means considering some tutoring.

And congrats on the 30 :)

When superscoring colleges will the HIGHEST sub scores then average them to give you a new score most of the time the new score will either be the same or higher that the original never lower.....and congrats btw your score is hard to get you just opened up a lot of doors!
