Brother deploying for 6 mths to the sandbox.?
My brother will be deployed in January for 6 months to a pretty hostile area. I feel the tention in the air and feel his anxiousness to just get there and get home. I of course worry and know he knows what he is going into. What can I say to help ease him.Positive things. For example 6months is not that long etc. This war stuff is so hard on all of us. My heart hurts. Please someone with experience help me put together some words containing positive things. I want to make a list of positive.THX:a worried Sister
Thanks Dev

What we appreciate more than anything while overseas is mail mail mail. Keep in touch and answer any phone number that calls you (phone numbers will never appear the same).
As for the other guy's comment, the branch has nothing to do with Afghanistan but sounds like the Marines seeing as it is a 6 month deployment.

A very simple verse from the Bible that helps me. "Dont worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Psalms 3:3 is also helpful. As well as this, "God is good a stronghold in the day of trouble and He knows them that trust in Him" Nahum 1:6 I am a Marine veteran and know very well what you and your family is feeling. Thank your brother for his service and thank you for supporting him.

You failed to mention what branch of service that your brother is in and what his job is. But let me tell you from experience, I was in the Marines, and I felt pretty safe being over there with fellow Marines around me at all times. I felt safer over there than I do walking by myself down the street in any of our own major cities. His odds are extremely good that he will be just fine!

Tell him that if he works hard and keep busy, he'll be home in no time.
