How to downgrade windows 7 Professional to Windows 7 Home Premium?
I upgraded my laptop that originally came with Windows 7 Home Premium to an illegitimate version of Windows 7 Professional. Because of this, there is now a message on the bottom right-hand corner of my desktop. It states:
Windows 7
Build 7600
This copy of Windows is not genuine
Also, I cannot have a wallpaper anymore.
I was wondering if there was a way to downgrade from this version of Windows 7 Professional back to Windows 7 Home Premium using the product key that my computer came with.
I found some other way to make it work thanks for the help though!
It's a Sony.

You will need to do a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium edition to restore it and then activate it with the product key that came with the laptop. Depending on the version that you have (mostly dictated by your RAM and application requirements -- use 64-bit if you have 4GB RAM, 32-bit if less than 4GB RAM), download one of these ISO files:
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition SP1 (bootable)
---------------------------------------------
x86 (32-bit) version -- http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58996....
x64 (64-bit) version -- http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58997....
Transfer the ISO to a DVD disc or flash drive using this:
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/p...
Set up your BIOS to boot from the disc or flash drive. Format the partition where your bootlegged Professional edition is installed and install the Home Premium edition. Activate it after the installation using your product key that came with the laptop.
By the way, you might be interested in knowing that the same ISO can also be used to install other editions. But of course you should have a matching product key. In other words, you cannot use a Home Premium key to activate a different edition. Read this:

Based on the good things said on tomshardware about http://www.vanskeys.com/ , I actually went for it and bought a Windows 8 pro key from them, having got the .iso file from the Microsoft Technet pages.I have been using it for just under a week now and no problems.Put simply, it's legit!high recommendation!

Of course, you can buy the product key from the microsoft official shop, but it's so expensive.
so i suggest you buy it from some online MSDN partner shop, like oggus.com, with cheap price.
my windows 7 product key was bought there. genuine key with fast shipping, now my win7 OS has been activated one year. feel good! hope it can help you!
