What happened to my wireless?

I was using the wireless in my home and got ready to shut down, when updates were being installed, so I waited till they were installed. Shut down, then next morning turned computer on, but wireless wasn't working. A friend of mine was visiting and his was working just fine. I can use cable, but rather use wireless. Did the updates have anything to do with this?

It may or may not have been the update. Usually they don't mess with anything that you use everyday. Try some of these solutions:

Disabling and then renabling your wireless card (there's usually a switch if it's a laptop).

    Restarting your computer.

Remove and then readd the configuration for your wireless network on your computer.

Reinstall the drivers for your wireless card.

If those don't work try restarting your wireless modem, even though it doesn't seem to be the problem.

    Good Luck!

I agree probably not due to the updates.

What do you mean your wireless isn't working? Can be be more specific.

Lisa, had some good answers, do what she asked. If it still doesn't work then try removing or having the computer forget the details of your wireless connection. Then let it scan for connections when it finds yours, add it all over again.
