A lot of people are just posting lists without reading your question. But anyway, here are some reccomendations.
Madoka Magica - Magical girls that turn evil to work against the second law of thermodynamics. It contains magic, time-travel, violence, and mystery. It is much more than it first seems and definitely worth watching.
Paranoia Agent - Obsession taking over people and causing them to go insane. The art is a little lacking but this has one of the best plots of any anime I have seen.
Fate/zero - The main character is pretty cold, tactical, smart, and will do anything to win. It's action packed and quite complex.
Fairy tale - This is a nice anime thay covers multiple genres. It has elements of Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy. It's ongoing, which could be good or bad depending on your tastes.
Trinity Blood - This anime deals with violent politics and empires and nobles and such in violent and super natural wars.
Angel Beats - People who have died learning to give up their past regrets. I love the main character because of his apathetic yet rebellious attitude. A great, touching story. It is a lot more complex than most school life anime.
Elfen Lied - Lots of death and dark storylines, characters that arent who they appear to be to other characters in the series, great story.
Full Metal Alchemist - this is a science and magic based anime. It's pretty cool for people interested in chemistry. It has nice little arcs as well as a larger plot.
Hope you like them! :)

Kaiji - Its about a guy who uses clever tricks to get out of debt from gangsters. Similar to One Outs.
Spice and Wolf - The story is about a merchant who meets a wolf goddess who is trying to get back to her homeland. Together, the two use their experience and wisdom along the way. Similar to C, in that they both deal about economics. However, Spice and Wolf goes much further in economics.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Imagine Code Geass without "magical eyes", mechs, ideas like "the one who yells louder wins", immortal women and stupid idealism (hi Suzaku). You with me so far? Now, imagine Code Geass where there are dozens of great commanders like Lelouch on both sides, where political intrigues, plots and schemes are far from uncommon. Imagine battles of epic proportions and war on the galactic scale, where winning side is decided only by commanders intelligence, number of troops, their morale and available resources, not superunits like Lancelot. Do this and you've invented LoGH. BTW: concept of main hero searching for vengeance against Empire that did bad things to his sister, and exacting this vengeance using military and political means first appeared in LoGH, not CG. Lelouch copied Reinhard in many ways, but I can't say it's a bad thing. LoGH is just too damn good to not be copied.

Phantom ~Requiem For The Phantom~ its a clean sequence released in '09 approximately assassins :) particularly stable, countless twisted up characters, fanatics kill one yet another and so on and so on (i like this anime) looks to extra healthful the bill ^_^ (wiki has the call incorrect tho :S) additionally it truly is truly useful to objective Gundam 00, besides the actual incontrovertible fact that that for the duration of trouble-free terms suits some characteristics its a great sequence (except you're anti-mecha, yet then you definately liked CG so...) wish this facilitates :)

ok.. this is anime similar to gode geass, it s hard for me to filter anime you like or not but has detail about their similar.
enjoy
Death Note
This seems to be a pretty common comparison - probably because Light and Lelouch are practically the same character. Both shows feature quite a bit more intellectual sparring than your typical shounen fare, and both main characters have very similar personalities (they're closer to being villains than heroes) and abilities (ridiculously powerful but with prominent weaknesses that require careful planning to circumvent).
Guilty Crown
It's hard not to see Guilty Crown as something of a Code Geass rip-off when they're similar to the extent the main character receives "the power of the king" from a mysterious female, before involving himself in a Japanese rebellion against foreigners discriminating against the Japanese. There are even robots on roller-skates in it!
So far, what keeps the two as separate entities is the respective leads. In Code Geass Lelouch starts the rebellion himself and is driven by both hatred and the desire to protect his disabled little sister. In Guilty Crown the lead is some kind of emo-pussy hybrid that gets himself pulled into the rebellion of another man.
If the school-mecha warfare blend continues as the series progresses, those linking the two will only increase in number. It's a good thing Guilty Crown has outstanding visuals and music, as well as fast-pacing--people would look down on it otherwise.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Mechs, drama, comedy, if you like one you will like the other.
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
Both of these shows focus on the ongoing battle between two childhood best friends on opposite sides. They also both have mecha has a pivotal focus point in combat. While their settings are different, there are many similar character relations and plot points that viewers of both of these shows will probably enjoy.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Mecha action, lots of female fanservice!
Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha
Darker than Black and Code Geass are both in a technological world where the protagonist have a very powerful ability. There are lots of pizza hut hidden in the background or just somewhere on the screen. Suspense and fights, thats what they are all about.
Eureka Seven
mecha anime... war between to opposite views. GREAT drama, few tear jerker moments :
Full Metal Panic!
Both have the slight Mecha feel to them, but not enough to make you go insane. Also, they both have the comedy and school/slice of life elements in them. If you like one, you will probably like the other!
Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Imagine Code Geass without "magical eyes", mechs, ideas like "the one who yells louder wins", immortal women and stupid idealism (hi Suzaku).
07-Ghost
same miilitary genre..tragic past..flashbacks.. supernatural ability..Similiar uniforms and even music in the background.
Kuroshitsuji
Both the protagonists of Kuroshitsuji and Code Geass are very similar - from the fact they both follow the way of self-destruction and vengeance to the order issuing abilities and proficiency in chess.
In general, Ciel looks like a chibi version of Lelouch, not smart and skilled enough to pwn anyone he wants through strategy, relying on his butler Sebastian instead. (btw one of Shinigami in Kuroshitsuji is voiced by Jun Fukuyama.) English nobility, royal family members, tons of pathos, the only difference is XIX and XXI centuries, so no mecha in Kuroshitsuji.
Higashi no Eden
Both series feature male protagonists whose goal is to fix their country. They each have a powerful means to do so.
