The only very reliable coupe would be Toyota Solara, but it's not as much sporty as soft and comfortable. Your next possible choice for this price is the Mustang, which is not the most reliable, but not too bad. The next would be Chevy Cobalt, which is about average for reliability, but you can get it fairly new and it's better on gas.

When it comes to used vehicles, you have to look at each example and how it was both driven and maintained. It's one thing to say that X brand is known for its reliability but if the previous owner(s) proceeded to abuse and neglect the maintenance of the vehicle you're looking at, the general reputation means nothing as that particular example may prove to be troublesome because of its past history.

In other words, you can't just rely on a model's reputation. Due diligence on your part is still required when looking at any used vehicle.
