I have inherited old giant 2170 gmi sound speakers. How do I connect the speakers to my mixer amplifier?

I would imagine giant speakers like the GMI sound 2170 has built in power. I only see the + and - and a RCA stereo connector. I have connected the speakers to my sound system and no sound.

Those are big old DJ speakers. You can wire them to any amp or receiver with standard speaker wire that you can get at any hardware store. I see from the specs that they have wire posts labeled + and - for each wire. If you get no sound after connecting them to the speaker outputs of your receiver or power amp, they may be blown. A good simple way to test them is to get a small piece of speaker wire and connect a AA, AAA, C or D battery to the + and - terminals. You will hear a "thump" if the speaker is good.

If your mixer/amp has standard 1/4 inch outputs, you need to buy a 1/4 inch speaker cable - cut it in half - strip the cut ends - wire the stripped ends to your speaker - connect the 1/4 inch ends to your mixer/amp speaker outputs.

They do not have built in power.

If there is no power cord coming from the speakers than they don't have any build in power. It is hard to help you without knowing what amplifier and sound system you have and what you are using them for, but make sure the speakers are connected directly to an amplifier or mixer and that your sound system output is connected to the amplifier. If this is the case already you may need a bigger amplifier or the speakers may just be connected wrong. Be sure the amplifier is plugged in to a wall outlet and the volume is up on whatever is outputting the sound.

Sara, there is no such thing as ethnically Arabs. The Arabic language was first introduced in the 2nd century. So, before the 2nd century, there was no such thing as an Arab. After the 2nd century, people who started speaking Arabic, which I think started in Iraq, were referred to as Arabs, but they are ethnically Semitic. So the Canaanites could as well be the modern Palestinians, as many Syrians and Lebanese (Phoenicians, etc.) had been proven to be former Canaanites and they didn't adopt Arabic from Aramaic till later on. Either way, we sure have lived on that land for a longer period than exiled Jews, and we were always called the Philistines since the day of Jesus Christ. Language and Religion are irrelevant. If we are not the Canaanites, then 1400 years are longer than the 200 years that the Americans lived in America or the 500 year conquest of Palestine by Israelites and Judaens who they stole away from the Canaanites.
