What does it mean to reinstate a suspended license?

My license was suspended a year ago. The suspension is no longer. I still have my I.D. card, can I just get in my car and drive now without getting in trouble if a cop pulls me over? Or do I have to go to the DMV and do some paperwork...?

Thanks guys.

It means you have to rectify the reason why your license was suspended by paying all fees, fines and any associated court cost along with the reinstatement fee. When you have receipts proving you have paid required fees to the court, take proof of payment to DMV to reinstate.

It would help if we knew which country, province or state this was in.
