How do you beat Groudon in pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of darkness?

Prepare yourself for a long answer!

First of all, you guys are too under-leveled, and it’s practically impossible to beat Groudon when both of you are weak to Ground-type moves. (Uh, did Groudon even have Ground-type moves? I don’t remember since I beat him a long time ago.) Anyway…

Groudon has about 300 HP, and if I remember correctly, two of his moves are Fire Blast and Bulk Up. It’s too bad that neither you or your partner can learn Water, Grass, or Ice-type moves, which are super effective on Ground-type Pokémon. Oh, well; I started out the same.

Items can be a huge help during battles in which you have huge disadvantages! A good place to look for status-altering Seeds is Beach Cave. It’s full of Sleep Seeds and X-Eye Seeds. Get about 5 Sleep Seeds and/or X-Eye Seeds.

Also pick up some Blast Seeds. Eating them lets you damage the enemy by 35; throwing the seed damages then by 25. So it’s best if you eat them.

And get some better moves! Use the Wonder Mail Generator (click here: http://upokecenter.dreamhosters.com/games/dungeon2... and make some missions with TMs as rewards. For Pikachu, forget Growl and learn Brick Break. It’s a Fighting-type move, meaning that it’s not super effective, but the good thing is that it’s not as ineffective as an Electric-type move like ThunderShock. For Charmander, forget Growl and learn Dragon Claw. It’s a Dragon-type move that, like Brick Break, isn’t super effective, but fortunately not totally ineffective. Also, to level yourself up very quickly, create jobs with Golden Seed rewards. A Golden Seed levels you up by a whopping 5 levels!! Best if you two level up to something like 25 or even 30 if you want to get past the battle as quickly as possible.

And get Reviver Seeds!! Bring at least 10 because of your team’s disadvantages.

To boost your attack power, get Power Bands and/or Special Bands. Power Bands strengthen Attack; Special Bands strengthen Special Attack. You can also get them with the Wonder Mail Generator.

OK, here’s what to do.

Start off the battle by throwing a Seed; I recommend Sleep Seeds over X-Eye Seeds because they keep the enemy in place. Next, turn off Pikachu's ThunderShock move. After that, feel free to beat up Groudon (who should be asleep) with Dragon Claw, Scratch, and Blast Seeds.

If you want to save up your Seeds, use Smokescreen. This move causes the enemy’s moves to miss almost all the time, even for moves that should always connect. If you want to save up PP, turn off all of Pikachu's moves except Thunder Wave to paralyze Groudon.

Just keep doing this and you’ll do fine.

First level up to level 20-24 and stock up on all seeds possible, a few Oran Berries and a few Max Elixers (if you can), make your way to Groudon and throw a Stun Seed if you have one, if not, Sleep Seed and prepare. Keep attacking Groudon- Turn Pikachu's Thundershock off. Status and Stat-affecting moves should stay on, they will help ALOT. With Charmander, use everything EXCEPT Ember (Smokescreen the most, it can't hit you when it's Whiffered). While getting up to Groudon, I found a Vacuum-Cut TM and that helped me a lot when fighting Groudon. Equip your Pikachu with something that ups Sp. Atk and/or something that ups Sp. Defense. For Charmander, Equip something that ups ATK, and DEF if you can. With this team, try beating Groudon, you should succeed.

You could get the TM dig, which is a move Groudon is weak against, or, You can stock up on revive seeds like mad and hope for the best.

However, to get the TM Dig you will have to generate mail so you can choose the item you want.
