What is this phone called in the older movies?

What is the phone called that has the head and mouth piece in one on top, and you lift the reciever to awnser the phone. There is a rotating circle in the middle of the phone where you turn to the numbers for the call. I know when I was little there were children toys that you could pull around and stuff like that. I'm interested in purchasing one for myself, and idea what stores I could get one from, and what the phone is actually called? Info would be much appreciated!

They are called a rotary dial phones, but to old phone people they were called a 500 base for a desk model,a 554base for a wall phone model. The parts for the phones came in different colors and could be switched over by the tech that came to your home. The phone came in black, unless you ordered it in a certain color. The colors I had on my truck in the 1970s were ivory, beigh, red, blue, green and black.I know you can get these phones from a group known as The Telephone Pioneers of America, they are a org.of retired telephone people and have many old style phones

available.if you can request a phone with a number 7 dial instead of a number 9 dial. The #7 dial sounded more like it did in the old days while the #9 was completely quite.
