Would it be ridiculous to write about Lady Gaga on my NYU Supplement?

For one of the NYU Supplements the question is:

"What intrigues you? Tell us about one work of art, scientific achievement, piece of literature, method of communication, or place in the world (a film, book, performance, website, event, location, etc.), and explain its significance to you."

Although it does not specifically mention music, I would like to write about Lady Gaga's album "Born This Way". I think its more than just music, it's a work of art in my eyes. It holds major significance for me because I am someone that normally has no confidence in myself, but whenever I listen to it I feel like I am escaping from my self doubts. I am also "out of closet" and the album has definitely helped me. NYU seems to be pretty liberal and is very supportive of its LGBT students. I feel that this could definitely help me. Otherwise, I have no f**king clue what to write about.. everything else would be completely bullshit and generic. Thank you for reading my rant but I really want to go there, its the only place that I feel that I'll fit in. My grades are average and I have a 1670 SAT which isnt very good, and I live in NYC which they are more stingent on accepting people from here. I feel this could definitely help my admission. Once again, thank you!
