Are Pokemon Black/White gym leaders completely overpowered?
Is it just me or are the Pokemon black and white gym leaders completely overpowered?!
It's really making me angry because it seems like every single pokemon that belongs to a gym leader has four kinds of attacks. #1 being an attack that inflicts confusion. #2 being an attack that completely K.O.'s your pokemon. #3 being a move that completely heals said pokemon. #4 being a move that disables your attacks.
I've been playing for a couple days pretty consistently and I've gotten to the sixth gym leader and I think I'm done with this game. It's the same thing at every gym and I'm getting really tired of it.
Every single time it's like the gym leader's pokemon either confuse your pokemon and have them attack themselves until they faint or they one hit K.O. your pokemon. If it's neither of those then within 3 turns you're knocked out because of being constantly paralyzed, put to sleep or being confused and if 75% of the time when you attack the opposing pokemon you get ATTACK AVOIDED.
I'm also noticing a lot of computer character cheating going on. Since when are the gym leaders pokemon allowed to attack you THREE TIMES in a row without you being able to get a move in?
Is anybody else having these problems? If they continue I'm never playing another pokemon game.

Fight fire with fire. Notice what moves they have and what they can do to you. Then find out what pokemon can do that and beat the crap out of them next time. Make sure that they are not pummeling you because of your pokemon level compared to them. your level > opponents level or else it will be challenging to win. Be more strategical and I am not sure about the "Three Time Hit" thing, maybe they used something like fury swipes? If your on the 6th gym leader it does not get any better. The last gym leader, elite four, and Alder are much harder.

They aren't overpowered, they just have strategy moves. This wouldn't be a problem either if you keep your Pokemons levels equal to or greater than that of the Gym Leaders Pokemon and have a diverse team. You could even, I don't know, use moves like Sleep Powder or Thunder Wave yourself?
It just sounds like you are extremely unlucky when it comes to status effects on your Pokemon, and attacking in general. The only time I've ever seen a Pokemon game get cheap is in the Battle Subway in B/W/BW2.
