Naming a child after a fictional character?
What are your thoughts on naming children after fictional characters? Would you do it or not, and why? I find myself attracted to names that are in books and movies that I like, mainly The Hunger Games and Twilight. I know its bad but, I am seriously considering using names of fictional characters for my future children!
BQ- What are some of your favorite names that are inspired by fictional characters? EG. Katniss, from The Hunger Games.

I would do it. At the end of the day there are worse ways to name your children. I mean people name each of their children with the same first letter so they have no originality. If you like names from books or movies then how is it any different. I love Isabella from Twilight. I also love Jasper and Rosalie and Esme and Renee. I also love Primrose from hunger games. I love Bonnie and Elena which are characters in The Vampire Diaries. i read a book and fell in love with the main characters name called Priya. I don't think it's bad but sometimes i think that some are bad like Katniss is unusual and i don't like it but im sure there will be many little girls called Katniss in 2024 or 2034 haha

I absolutely think that's fine. My little sister actually named after a character in a book. (She's named after the detective's daughter, Sasha, from the book House Rules by Jodi Picoult. My parents both loved the book and they fell in love with the name Sasha after reading it, so they named her Sasha after the character in the book.) I actually love it.
I would definitely do it, especially if the character had a certain character trait (Sasha from House Rules was the sweetest little girl ever and I LOVED her character).
I've heard of a girl naming her sister after Clara from the Nutcracker, which I think is just the bomb. xD
I would DEFINITELY do it. Absolutely. Yes. 100% go for it. It's not bad at all! :D
BQ: My favorite names that are inspired by fictional characters are Clara from the Nutcracker, Sasha from House Rules, Annie from Annie, Ray from Uptown Girls, Clarisse from the Princess Diaries, and Summer from Make it Or Break it. :D
Yay! That was a fun question! Thank you! <3333333333333333

I LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES! SOO GOOD!
That said, yes I would name my child after fictional character, as long as I know they won't be bullied for it.
BQ: I like Katniss, I also like the name Tintin, for some reason? xD

Thanks for your answer on the question of Paisley. (:
- I think it's okay, I read this Christmas book and it had a character named Kylie and I loved it so much, I suggested it to my mom when she was pregnant. Guess what, we named her Kylie, lol.
BQ: Perseus from the Percy Jackson series, Elaine from The Songs of Sparrows, Hazel from Catching Fire, Atticus from How To Kill a Mockingbird.
Good luck.

Not unless they are common names. Don't name your child katniss or hermione, they will be teased and compared to these characters. If the name is, say, Molly, like Molly Weasley, that would be fine. But not if it is obvious that they were named for a fictional character. And NEVER if the character is a villain or bad guy.
