Strange logic isn't it? The GOP's rationale never ceases to amaze me. Their answer to paying down the debt is less taxes and their answer to Gods Curse on America (the second amendment) is to arm teachers.

Many schools in the US have police officers assigned to them aren't they the same as armed guards.....

In a not perfect world only the good guys would turn in their guns and we would be helpless and at the

mercy of the bad guys.Too bad we will never know if a police officer was assigned to that school how many lives could he have saved. Drugs and drunk driving have been against the law for years and that does not help.

Having a gun will not help all the time but being defenseless will never help..

We could use the money we give to countries that hate us,our children are more important!!

What is needed, is mental health care, available anytime. Mass shooters are troubled people enraged. They are at a point in their life that if they had somewhere to go, someone to talk to about what is bothering them, these murders could be averted. But they make a horrible choice instead.

another NRA myth , when a crazy gunman goes on the rampage the first person he ( or criminals) shoot are the armed guards and any other armed person, as normal people always have to hesitate before shooting someone the crazy guy always has the edge , reagan, kennedy, RLK, MLK etc were all surrounded by highly trained armed guards and they didn't help at all

99% of gun-toting Americans are good citizens. I have a concealed carry permit. Which would be better when I visit my local school should an indident occur:

- It's a no-gun school zone so I couldn't wear mine

-I was armed and could do something to put the bad guy down

Bad people should not have guns, good people should have guns. Pretty simple. So yes, more armed good people and less armed bad people is the answer. Disarming the good people isn't the answer. Anyone who's logic dictates that disarming the good people is the answer is a complete idiot.
