Which cricket team saw the most improvement this year, and which one went down to an extent?

Bangladesh really improved especially in ODIs , they beat India , Lanka in asia cup . They won ODI series against WI . But they yet to improve in tests though they played only 2 tests this year .

England has also improved but they lost the Test series against SA in Home but came back strongly and won test series in India after 28 years . SA is no.1 test team , they never lost a test match this year and also Aus losing 1 test match .

While coming to teams which down are India , SriLanka . India lost 3 out of 3 test matches in overseas and won 3 out of 6 test matches in Home is really horrible performance by India in home . Though they didnt reach CB series finals , Asia cup finals , ICC T20 wc they have shown quite decent performance in ODIs and t20 this years .

Since Test cricket is real format and India is worst in test this year , india joins this list .

SriLanka has also done worse this year losing ODI series against India in Home and Lost 2 matches against aus now and series level against nz in test . But they are no.1 in t20 .

Bangladesh has improved in odi crciket, considerably. So has west indies winning t20 cup. However, as an Indian fan, i personally feel that India went down. Lost cb series, asia, cup, lost to england in tests, tied with pakistan and england in t20 cricket(a format epeople said India was doing well in), lost world t20(they did however win 4 put of 5 matches, which is not bad; it is because of net run rate). Only success is new zeland test sees, and sri lankan series.

England came back well after their test whitewash at the hands of Pakistan. A thumbs up to Pakistan as well for their big win.

India have been the big disappointment. Sliding from number one test ranking to number five since the start of the year.

South Africa and Australia have been the most consistent teams this year.

India certainly is the most deterioted team.Nothing has gone right for India after the World Cup.Whereas England certainly is the most improved team.They r now #1 in rankings in ODIs & #2 in ODIs.

England - improved playing spin bowling. their bowling has gotten touch better.

India - ended the year in a high but all year they were awful. batting isnt as great as it used to be few years ago. besides Kohli their whole batting unit needs to improve. and with their bowling they still haven't got that one deadly fast bowler
