is it wrong to not want to be an American anymore?

I was born and raised here in the US. I used to be very patriotic, and would even tear up when I heard the National Anthem, or patriotic songs. I wear red white and blue and have a big picnic on every Fourth of July, I support our soldiers, and most of the time love the freedom and rights that I have being an American. But lately, I've been thinking about what it would be like to live in another country, like England, or even Canada. I'm so sick of the politics here, our politicians can't agree on anything! I'm tired of the lazy fat ways of this country, and ashamed of the way a lot of Americans act. I'm tired of the gun violence, and nobody can agree on what to do. A lot of people will say if you don't like our country then leave, but it's not that easy, I don't have enough money to relocate to a different country! I feel so guilty feeling like this, are there other Americans that feel this way too?

Update:

Nommad not sure, but are you talking about me? I am not a whiny loser American, and I do try to change things. Thanks for your closed minded opinion. That's another reason I hate being an American sometimes, people here are so freakin closed minded.

You do not have to fully support america. You can be against some things, but love others.

    Hope i helped.

Here in the UK we have arguing politicians too. Every country probably does.

Although, I think the guns laws in the USA are ridiculous, especially after all the terrible things that have happened.

Every country has problems, and don't decide to move to another country unless you know loads about it, and have lived there for a while to actually get an idea of what it's like to live there.

If we yearned for freedom, we does no longer be giving it away like food at a homeless shelter. Bush has taken away extra rights/privateness remote from our u . s . than each president (mixed?) ever. to boot the Patriot Act and his with the flexibility to cancel elections (see 1st link below) if he proclaims a "state of emergency", he purely made an govt order outlawing criticizing the conflict in Iraq (2d and third link). with any luck they're going to capture him until now he's written into historic previous books that discover their way into the palms of high school pupils as a "sturdy" president... Congratulations Bush, you are the main important TYRANT interior the historic previous of the U. S.. right here's a medal: sure it somewhat is the Nazi image. Fascist.

Yes. There are plenty of whiny, loser Americans who complain about everything and do nothing to change things. Americans who understand that freedom and justice are things you have to work for are kind of tired of them.
