Dont get any checmicals to get rid of the algae. It will throw off your tank cycle and likely kill your fish. turn off the light, stop overfeeding, and do water changes to keep optimum water quality. look into some ottos for algae control, depending upon whether or not you have room in your tank.

You can get an algae eater or scrape it off or even get algae kill. If you have live plants the algae kill will kill them. Some algae eaters are:

    plecos

    siamese algae eater

    farowella

I have a siamese algae eater but he doesn't do anything... I have to scrape it off for him. I used to have plecos and farowellas but my crabs ate them... so beware. Good luck!
