My read messages look the same as my unread messages [in Groups message boards]. What happened?

I used to be able to tell the difference between what I already had read, and what I hadn't. It changed yesterday. No I when I read a new message it looks unread, The messages read previously [before yesterday] look the way they are supposed to be. This is in all the groups I subscribe to. How can I get this working again? Thanks.
