Sister wants a big dog JUST to make me mad? ( We can't afford a big dog she knows)?

My Little sister who is 12 years old always wanted a dog , she had a little black dog that we rescued off the streets. My dad gave him away to his friend because he would tear up everything from the family dog and he was a trouble maker too much for mom & Dad & My older sister. My sister ever since wants a dog , we have a dog , Brownie. However she says Brownie is mine not her's I tell her it's the family's though being a 12 year old she won't budge. My Parents have no sayed once they fence in our yard they will buy Nanci (My sister) a puppy. Every since she has been talking about a toy poodles or a chihuahua. She now out of no where no longer wants a small dog. She NOW wants a BIG dog she said a Doberman Pinsher. My Mom Said she wants to buy a Poodle because of the smartness of them and there no shedding idea also because my mom adores poodles we had two in the past before Brownie. I tolled my little sister we can't afford a big dog they need more medical vet costs since they need bigger doses , she & me will have to walk the dog for a hour , she is small and even brownie who is a chihuahua mix pulls her when she walks him herself. She said I was just "Jealous because big dogs are smarter" , I laughed and tolled her I knew there were smart breeds out there but she would not walk it enough she stays indoors 24/7 and i'm worried it will become stressed of being inside and not running in the dog parks since I know I'll have to go outside with her and she won't want to walk him or her out for a hour TRUST me. She then admitted she wants a big dog to make me mad. I will be mad but not about "her" dog (All the family will care for it me too) will be bigger than Brownie I will be mad because I don't want the new dog to be sad and stressed and have too much energy. But of course she doesn't listen! I know she will do the impossible to get a HUGE dog she even mentioned about the pit bulls in Pet Smart.. I told her if she wants an easy trainable dog she should get a pappilon or toy poodle but she says she isn't going to get what I tell her.

I think she is just being silly what would you do? Please no rude comments by they way if you didn't catch up i'm her middle sister my big sister is also wanting a huge dog both are lazy butts.

Update:

Main thing I'm worried about is if she dose get a new big dog she doesn't really want it she justs wants to see the look in my face and also the dog's health she says she is "active" but really she spends all day inside home 24/7. Being Active is jogging outside , hiking , bike ridding , running a mile a day etc! She has never walked our block for god's sake!

Update 2:

@Emmi I love big dogs , We just can't afford a big dog and my parents said no to a big dog It's more ignorant of you juding people before getting things staright... The whole point was that we can't afford a big dog if we have a big dog it will be stuck in our big yard the whole time. Big dogs are sure smarter than a small tiny chihuahua.

Update 3:

I mean small yard lol that was a typo.

I always wanted a big dog when I was 12 too,but my parents never let me get one. She will grow out of it soon, just keep telling her she's going to get one until she grows out of it. My parents did the same to me until I grew out of it and it worked, but some people are harder to fool than others.

You could also give her a little job for walking dogs, and pay her a little amount of money to do it. Make her do it and she will soon just change her mind.

There is likely a very good reason for them not wanting a dog. It may be money, it may be time, it may be that they feel they will ultimately be the ones to care for it (and puppies are a LOT of work, not to mention you will eventually go to college and very likely leave the dog behind). It's horrible. But life just isn't fair sometimes. I know how you feel - I have lived on about 130 acres my entire life; we've always had cattle but I've always thought a horse was practical. I've also always wanted sheep & goats after caring for the ones my neighbor had. However, my parents never thought it was a good idea. One of my friends? All she had to do was merely bring up the idea of whatever new pet she wanted and her mother would get it for her. My neighbor down the road? She has all of three acres and THREE horses she never rides. The family is barely home. Sure, I don't think it's fair. Not by a long shot. But when I'm older I will have the freedom to do as I want with my life, money willing. And I intend to.

Why don't you tell this to your parents instead of strangers on the internet. There is nothing that we can do. You are definitely acting your age, and that is not a good thing. Be mature.

There are smart dogs in every size, do not say that large breed dogs are stupid or not trainable. That is very ignorant. I personally hate small dogs, but I don't go around telling people they are stupid, untrainable, etc. It is NOT just big dogs that need an hour walk daily. There are also small breeds that require the same.

Make a deal, get a medium dog such as a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

ADDED: If your parents already said no to a big dog, then what the hell are you whining about?

if she wants a Pit Bull then she shouldn't have a dog at all I know people who have had dogs for longer than she has been alive and they have been attacked by them if your sister was over 6 foot incredibly strong and had owned dogs like Staffys Rottweiler's and Alsatians for 20+ years then she could consider getting a dog like that but there would be very strict rules on keeping an illegal pet like that because it is in there nature to kill and the only way she would legally get a Pit Bull would be if it was pregnant so the court could not have it put down. Pit Bulls are illegal for a reason it is bread into them to kill and a 12 year old girl would stand no chance if it turned, most adults wouldn't stand a chance if a Pit Bull went for them. if she is young doesn't have much experience with dogs then you want to get a Golden Retriever or a dog like that as she doesn't have much experience something with Rottweiler Doberman Staffys Alsatian or anything like a husky (akita) IS A VERY BAD DECISION as you need to be firm with them and need to have experience with dogs before taking on anything like that. all of those breeds are lovely Akita's and Rottweiler's are my 2 favourite breeds of dog and are the best companion dogs ever same with Staffys, but they can be aggressive towards other dogs and need to have a strong willed and physically strong master. A Golden Retriever is a calm and docile breed of dog and a great family pet they are very loving and not at all aggressive if they are taught right from the start they are very easy to train and don't moult as much as a Labrador would and Labs tend to be a bit more lively. DO NOT GET a Pit Bull if you want your other dog to live and you want to be without a criminal record or responsible for someone's death because I guarantee with what I have read from your past history of dogs you wont be able to keep control of it there not good family pets and should only be taken on by the best of dog handlers. A Golden Retriever is a safe bet make sure you have a hip score done on the parents because that's the only major problem with them it will live until it is about 16 as big dogs die younger than small ones a toy poodle will live till about 18 whereas a Great Dane will live until he is 8

hope this has helped I have worked in a kennel for 5 years and have seen almost every breed of dog (including pit bulls they can be nice to people but will destroy most other breed of dog and they will need well more that 1 hour of exercise, DO NOT GET A PITBULL)

So what if you sister whats a dog, why does it suddenly concern you? Its none of your business>Its up to your parents. If they want a dog then there's nothing you can do about it becouse you are a minor.

Dogs do NOT become stressed form being kept inside, its where they belong. Its not like you can't get off your butt and walk the dog instead of whining about it since its the family dog. Take some responsibility for it.

Let your sister whine all she wants, I highly doubt your parents will get her a big dog since they can't afford it. Just ignore her, she is only acting that way becouse she's a brat and knows you will react to it. If your parents get a dog it will highly likely be a small dog.

get a labrador retriever they are easy to train and are low maintenance dogs and they are very social and loving so he/she wont be mean to the family pet.
