Decided to join the Navy...backed out, now regretting the decision.?
So this might be more of a recruiter question, but here goes. I had decided to join the Navy about 6 months ago. I went through MEPS, scored a 91 on ASVAB, got my rate as a CTR...lost weight, was in all my times for PT, and learned all the info. I was ready to go...then I met a girl...threw it all off. She convinced me to go to college instead(first)...I crumbled...and dropped out of the DEP program. My ship date was set for Jan 4th...if my recruiter hasn't thrown that away. Anyway, I'm upset...I feel like I made a mistake and want back in. Should I? Could I? Obviously won't ship on 4th, but think thy would take me back? Or should I consider another branch? Or even if I could rejoin Navy, would they allow me a decent job? Hoping for some insight.

At a minimum you'll either have to write a letter, or meet with, the Officer In Charge of the Naval Recruiting District explaining why you dropped out of DEP and why you deserve another chance.
Get in contact with your recruiter, again.
Your Jan. 4th ship date has already been given to somebody who wanted it.

While your recruiter may not be too happy with you, there is no reason you should be afraid to call him. Unless you broke an official agreement, I don't see what the problem is
How official was your dropout? Perhaps the Jan 4 date may still be open
If not you can get a date later this spring given that all your paperwork is already complete
By the way, are you think about taking the ASVAB exam? If so download my free ebook "Raise Your ASVAB Score With 10 Simple Tips" Here: http://militaryasvabhq.com/yebklink/

All you can do is call him and see.
He'll probably be p1ssed, and if he lets you back in- you will probably be at the bottom of the pile........AND there may be 'problems' with your contract.
You could also look at other recruiters (including navy at a different branch office) and see what they think.
A 91 ASVAB will probably have more wiggle-room than a 37.

You just gave up possibly a great highlight in your life because of a girl you might not stick with.
I would rejoin if I were you.
Plenty of time for girls later. And the navy might get you a couple girls too.
If that doesn't work. Piloting is really fun. Expensive though.
I flew a plane one weekend. Wasn't keen on it at first but I loved it. I'm glad I didn't back out from it.
If the Navy is what you want to do then do it
