Is the real reason Democrats want to extend the tax cut for the middle class that 80% of bush tax cuts went to?

people making less then 250,000? It would show that the Democrats lied when they said the majority of the tax cuts went to the rich? If nothing is done taxes will go up 400 billion. If the taxes go up on people making more then 250,000 it will only gain 80 billion.

Update:

Flower - Aren't we talking Tax Cuts not unemployment? Liberals love to confuse the issue.

When they say the majority of tax cuts went to the rich, they mean that the rich saved the most money from those tax cuts of 4% but they expired in 2010. Pres Obama tried to get them restored for income earners under $250K but Repubs wanted to keep them for everyone which is what happened. In return Pres Obama got extended unemployment benefits, historic 99 weeks.
