Scared about weight issues?
Hi. I was wondering if I could be at an unhealthy weight for my circumstances.
I'm approximately 165 pounds, 5 feet, 8 inches, and wear a size 8 jean. I'm only fourteen and everyone around me seems to be incredibly tiny. I've never been too concerned about weight, but I don't live in a place where many people weigh much more than 110 pounds. Thank you for your help and have a nice day. Thank you in advance for giving me your time.

Hahaha funny, I have a problem gaining weight and I hate it. But it doesnt matter, your a teenager so your body is continuously changing. In the next year you could end up losing a few pounds naturally. But by saying that I dont mean sit on the sofa all day hoping you will, in the mean time just jog or if you don't like running, a 20 minute fast walk a day or cycling. Join a sports team or make some money as well by offering to walk dogs. Mybe do a few push ups or sit ups every morning or before you go to bed. Go outside with friends to the park or something, you'll lose the weight quick enough. Honestly though, you are a good weight and should be happy, your not through growing yet, the people in your class are light by genetics (have a read about ectomorphs, mesomorphs and endomorphs) probably and those that are not just work hard. Joining a sports club is probably the best way to not only lose weight but most importantly as a teenager to stay fit and make new friends. Unfortunately that would all be a waste with out a good diet. 70% of a workout is a good diert, That doesnt mean get rid of all sugar snacks, just less sweets and more greens. A diet doesn't mean less food, just healthier as you will burn off those extra unwanted calories naturally or by working hard. Remember though to never give up and your opinion is the only one that counts. Good luck with it and I wish you all the best :)

First of all, being healthy does not mean being light in weight but low in body fat. The two are not necessarily the same thing. At 14, you can do many things if you are concerned about your health.
Here are just a few simple things you can do to make yourself healthier:
1) Cut back on any sugary foods or drinks (especially soda's). The more sugar you consume, the more likely you will have a higher amount of body fat and you will also feel tire.
2) Do simple exercises such as: walking, jogging, riding an exercycle or using an elliptical. You don't need to do them to the point of exhaustion - just with about mild to medium pace. Do the exercises about 4-5 times a week for at least 20 minutes.
3) Don't sit around for too long such as watching tv or using a computer - go do something that keeps you on your feet and moving around. You might consider taking up a sport that you find interesting.
If you are doing something about it there is no reason to feel bad.

I'll be straight with you- You do seem a little over weight but here's the plan!
Eat five small meals a day with a big breakfast in the morning.
Eat foods that are low in carbs
If you have an Ipod touch or iphone or something then get the app called In Shape or In shape free it'll help you a lot to keep fit and maybe get someone else to lose weight with you for motivation!
But if your serious about loosing weight then make your safe with you the way you go about it and tell your parents!!!!
Hope this helps!!!

Put a two litre water bottle as well as a glass on your desk every single morning. Get through it by lunch, and do the same in the afternoon. You’ll exercise better and also recover faster if you’re hydrated. I drink some water each and every time someone asks me a silly question or sends a dumb email... find something that works for you!

If you are concerned of being a little unhealthy, maybe join a sport team or get a physical hobby. Your 14, I wouldn't worry about those things. Just have fun as a kid!

Operate the 20 minute rule. Eat the portion-controlled meal then, even if you feel hungry afterwards, wait for 20 minutes and find out if you still do. Nine times away from 10, you won’t. If you need to do, eat 10 per cent much more.

Enjoy your treats overseas. Pop to the ice cream parlour for any scoop of your favourite flavor, or plan a meal treat with friends over a weekend. Turning your cravings into the adventure takes the temptation out of snacking at home.

Time your having and exercise appropriately. Never eat prior to deciding to work out, and wait 30 to 60 minutes after training to ensure you catch your metabolism at its highest.
