Books on conservative economy?

I have been reading Paul Krugman's The Conscience of a Liberal, and I want to read a book by an opposing conservative economist just to analyze the American Economy with two different sides? Any ideas?

Thomas Sowell or Greg Mankiw might be the best options.

Adam Smith's work is so far removed from modern economics (labor theory of value) that it's mostly important as a historical work, rather than as a modern economic text.

Rothbard is operating in a completely different paradigm (one which I believe is farcical), similar to Hayek.

Conservative only gets you halfway there - for the total antithesis of Paul Krugman, I recommend Murray Rothbard's 'For a New Liberty'. He makes a compelling argument for anarcho-capitalism, or no government at all. He also picks apart the fiat currency system of which Krugman is so fond.

The book is " The Wealth of Nations". It is the cornerstone of classical economics.
