You have a fiance and you're interested in playing magic? Huh, I guess there really is someone for everyone.

Get Portal. They're starter decks and they're really strong, so it's easier to pick up at first.

Don't pay attention to either of the answers that's on here. Portal hasn't been in stores for like twenty years and Deck Builder's Toolkits aren't worth the money since you can't get any rares and all of the DBT are semi-randomized.

If you want to get into the game, try Intro packs. Pick a couple that look good to you and play them. Intro packs come with rules for the game and how the game works. Intro packs aren't strong and they aren't the best to see what a deck looks like but it's the best available.

Don't go making your own decks for a while unless you want to make horrible decks.

If I was just starting out again, I'd get a "Deck Builders Kit", and if you really want to, a premade deck that sounds fun to you. The rules come in the deck kit box, but they're easy enough to look up online, and I'm sure there's a YouTube video somewhere on the topic.
