How would you deal with a 'monster'...?

There was the story in India about the girl who died after a gang rape in a public area. It makes me wonder... what kind of people did this? What about the people who watched and did nothing? Were they scared?

It reminds me of a friend who was a social worker in New York. He told me about dealing with a guy who had been jailed previously for raping an infant. This guy had just become a father. He was mentally unstable and his wife had mental issues too.

Did the guys in India have mental issues?

Let's say you were a social worker and you had the chance to sit and talk to one of the gang-rapists. How would you deal with a 'monster'?

    Monk said they are ill. I do not agree. They aren't ill. Their behavior is a symptom of something larger. They're not victims, they're just ... unconscious. Nameless said

    to judge and dehumanize the people would mean that I am no better/healthier than they

    and I agree with that in the sense that to torture and kill them (which we righteously are inclined to want to do) would only get evil on us. Then s/he says

    those who cannot play nicely with their brothers and sisters need to be lovingly segregated that they cannot hurt themselves or anyone else, while undergoing therapy. ... If they cannot be Healed, we must continue to care for them, humanely, Lovingly, Compassionately in a safe and healing environment!!

    and I agree that they must be excluded from the community of human(e) beings. But I don't agree that it's possible to offer them "safety and healing" in a society that produced them. I don't have an answer to crime and punishment but I think the urge to "heal" evil individuals is misguided, in the same way that the urge to punish women who have abortions is misguided. Strike at the root, would make more sense to me.

    And to answer your question, at first I thought gee, I simply could not speak to them, unless I could witness them in the throes of agonizing remorse. I consider them subhuman, subject to exile in whatever way necessary because a self-respecting human being is not capable of such acts without remorse. I guess I'd like to ask them how they could forget that she is their sister, their daughter, their mother ... how they could think so little of themselves that they would torture a fellow human being? But really, we all have evil nature and we all know exactly how they could do it. The rapists are a loose end in an unraveled civilization and I do not really give a rip about how they justify it to themselves, and I half-pity, half-admire anyone who'd bother with compassion for them, because compassion for that is like shoveling sand into the tide. I just want them removed from communities of normal, humane human beings.

    what kind of people did this? evil, twisted, perverted people did this .

    What about the people who watched and did nothing?

    she was raped in moving bus ( a pvt bus ) , unfortunately the bus had dark tinted glass , so no one knew what was happening and she was driven around through places where there were not many people , it was a pre planned act, this 6 guys got drunk, one of whom was a bus driver then they lured this girl and her friend into their bus and then took bus to an isolated spot and raped her in the moving bus, her friend was thrashed too. and after they were done with raping and shoving objects into her pvt parts, she and her friend was stripped off clothes ( to remove the evidence ) and dumped naked at night.

    then these guys washed the entire bus to get rid of semen traces and blood which shows it wasn't a spontaneous crime but a planned one.

    Did the guys in India have mental issues?

    Yes the leader of the group, Ram singh, is a widower and his neighbors say he got angry very easily .... he had mental issues too, he is a psychopath .

    Let's say you were a social worker and you had the chance to sit and talk to one of the gang-rapists. How would you deal with a 'monster'?

    There is no way I am talking to these scums , hanging them would be an easy way out , so dont hang them, but throw them in dungeons , make them suffer the rest of their miserable lives , make an example of them, so in future no one will dare to do what they did to this girl.

    I would have done everything

    in my power to stop it.

    Maybe some of the others

    would have backed me up,

    maybe not, I don't care.

    But I couldn't live with myself

    if I just sat there and did nothing.

    I mean, what the hell is

    wrong with people today?

    And no, they wouldn't want

    to put me in a room

    together with a rapist.

    Monk's answer makes no sense to me,

    and nameless's answer is naive.

    Those rapists made their choice.

    Justice demands that they pay for it..

    Many Indian men are arrogant pigs.

    Many Indian men kill their own daughters without a second thought. Saves on marriage expenses.

    The problem is cultural. Let's not forget that they also have a tradition of throwing a deceased man's still very much alive wife or wives onto his funeral pyre.

    If I was a social worker and I had the chance to sit and talk with these ******* (let's not forget that they allegedly shoved a rusty steel bar inside her when they were finished) I would chop off their penises and feed them to my beige killer poodle in front of them, while they writhed in pain and horror.

    Then I would laugh HaHaHaHaHa !!! like your typical, crazed and vengeful social worker sh!t-faced on Bath Salts and Valium and kick them to death with my regulation brown safety footwear.

    I get the distinct impression that the vast majority of Indian men now spend their days masturbating over porn on their mobile phones.

    Dirty fellows.

    Do not do unto others as you don't want done to you.... has it not been done?

    Mother, sister, daughter, wife, niece, granddaughter... if it were one of these people in your own life... I don't think anyone would be so calm or so decently "civilized".

    It was a planned and perverted attack by a bunch of pigs... they don't deserve talk. They made that girl's last days a living hell and they knew exactly what they were doing. What is REALLY wrong with them is they have no worthy morals and it definitely shows!

    Did you know that young Indian men are the group with the incidence of suicide in the world. Betcha didn't know that. Makes me think that the best of the bunch figure out what they are and are decent enough to kill themselves in the interest of the common good....

    How would you deal with a 'monster'...?

    ~~~ First, I wouldn't judge and dehumanize the people who perpetrated this crime.
    That would mean that I am no better/healthier than they!
    Second, those who cannot play nicely with their brothers and sisters need to be lovingly segregated that they cannot hurt themselves or anyone else, while undergoing therapy.
    There is no punishment as there is no 'choice'!
    If they cannot be Healed, we must continue to care for them, humanely, Lovingly, Compassionately in a safe and healing environment!!
    "Do NOT do to 'others' what you don't want done to you!"
    (EVERYTHING in the Universe (and everyone), is 'others' (and 'others' Is Self!)!
    Fur,
    You may disagree but this One would do an all out training of this person in Vipassana, inter vision, to perhaps learn from him on how to help others with this disusing disorder illness. You just can’t keep killing them as so many would want to.
