HELP Am I a WA state "resident" if I was born here and never lived anywhere else?
It seems simple, but I'm confused. I live in WA state, I've always lived here, I am a citizen. So...in my college application it says "Are you a WA state resident?" Yes or no??
The question just sounds stupid, morons. The explanation of "Washington state residency" involved things like green cards and things. All my google searches basically were saying there's a difference between being a citizen and being considered a resident, and residents don't have voting rights. I wanted to make sure I had it right and I wasn't missing something because I'm thorough and think too hard, so STFU.

If you're getting stumped on the application, you've got a real tough time in store for you!

You are a RESIDENT OF WHERE YOU LIVE (have driver's license, own a car, are registered to vote, etc). There is no such thing as being a citizen of any state...citizenship applies to a country.
All those things apply to you.
Your google searches confuse you, because you are looking at info that applies to OTHER GROUPS of persons, such as persons who are not citizens, who immigrated (and if they have legal permission to be in the country).
Those topics don't even apply to you..so, yeah... you ARE thinking too hard. Why worry about immigration issues, if you are not an immigrant?
You are a legal resident of Washington, and the obvious answer is yes. You went into information overload, for no reason.

You are a citizen if you were born here and a resident of Washington. College applications are stressful. Good luck with getting into the school of your choice!

No, if you were born in WA and never lived anywhere else, you are a resident of Arkansas
