Hi You do not say the type of window you have, if they are wood sash type clean the touching surfaces ie points of contact and rub candle wax on both long edges. If the windows are plastic type, again clean all edges and spray the surface with a silicon based furniture polish.Note if they are old wooden sash type the wood may have expanded or have too many layers of paint if so you may well need sand or plane down the wood, you may need help or advice from a tradesman.

    Good luck.

Clean out the tracks but do not use wd 40 for the dirt will stick to the oil use a silicon polish and you will find that the window will slide and open easy .

Clean out any dirt on the tracks and on the window where it touches the tracks, then spray both of those with WD40 or rub soap on them.

=== clean the tracks and brush well then apply WD-40 and if it squeaks more then you will need to apply some soap [bar soap rubbed into the track] or grease/oil == soap is the best ...
