Why does my xbox sounds go off?

Whenever i play nba 2k13 the sound sometimes go off including the xbox sound. It cant be the game since its new and has no scratches

    Check the sound system wires as in the red, yellow, nd white wires that go into the tv or check if the speekers are good just check the wires if they are properly connected (:

    turn up the volume on your speakers?!? or maybe their broken
