If your 18 year old son, leaves and refuses to come back home is there anything you can do?

Do you have any rights at all, to me he is still a child :(

He will come back when he needs you, or needs money.

Don't most parents long for their kids to get to 18 and move out?

I don't think you have any rights anymore unless you can bribe him to come back. Offer him free room and board and a new car or something, but he has to stay for 2 years or something?

Look hes eighteen and he his exploring his new found freedom he will eventual come home.Maybe not as soon as you would like but that's all normal. If i were you i wouldn't worry just keep in mind eighteen and finally has the freedom that he has been weighting for.

You can cut off his credit card payment (notify the credit card company of this fact) and stop any other support that you are providing (college tuition, etc). Unless he can pay for himself over the long term, he will be back.

Nothing because he is an adult in the eyes of the law.

Unfortunately no. He's legally an adult now. Hope all goes well.

No. Legally he is an adult. As an adult you are no longer legally responsible for him.
