Air is perfectly elastic. Everybody can have all they want and the trees will make plenty more. Time is perfectly inelastic. Everybody gets 24 hours a day, no more and no less.

Air is a perfectly inelastic demand. Everybody needs an exact amount, whether they gather it for free or they have to buy it in bottles. Time is a perfectly inelastic demand. Some people don't use all they get, others try to make more.
