How can I show my mom how great pugs are?

I'm a 16 year old girl and my parents decided that we are going to get a dog.

I really, really want a pug. My dad agrees, but my mom says she doesn't like pugs. The thing is she has never been around a pug in her life. She has seen them, but she hasn't actually been around one.

I think if she was around one she would like it. The problem is I don't know where I can find a pug for her to be around.

Please give me some advice?? I don't know anyone with a pug anymore and I don't know what to do.

Thank you :)

Update:

To the person who said I don't have a say, I do actually have a say because most of the reason they are getting a dog is because I want one. They like dogs but never would have thought of getting one if I didn't ask for one. So they wouldn't get a dog I didn't like..

And my dad agrees with me, he really wants a pug too! It's just my mom.... and like I said she's never been even around a pug.

you can't cuz they are not great dogs ... they are notoriously difficult to housebreak ... they shed more than any dog i have met in over forty years ... a well bred one is expensive and a backyard bred one is nothing but a lifelong vet bill ... those facial folds fill with moisture and bacteria and stink, stink, stink ... they are not the brightest dogs out there ... they are lazy beyond belief ... and good luck ever traveling with a pug ... no airline takes them because of their compromised breathing ... maybe you need someone to show you the reality of pugs ... are you going to vacuum your home every single day you own one ???

Find a breeder or owner that will allow you to visit with their Pug(s). You can also make a slide show for you mom all about Pugs. Is there a reason your mother doesn't like Pugs? If she met one, she would probably love them. Just make she it is one that is well-trained and socialized. A poorly socialized an untrained Pug is not going to convince her. So, try to find a breeder or owner in the area with a well-trained and socialized Pug. Maybe visit with the dog before you bring your mom, just to make sure. A lot of people prefer small dogs, so maybe that could be a selling point for your mom.

    You can't

Your parents do not want a pug so you can't have one, you have very little to no say in what dog they get becouse its their money and they want a dog that they want. The dog will be long to them not you

Small dogs like pugs are are notoriously difficult to housebreak and since you have school you won't be home enough to house break the dog

Pug shed more then most large dogs

Pugs have a lot of health and genetic issues

It comes down to the fact they don't want one so you can't have one, doing immature childish things like showing them pictures and the like will only reinforce the fact that they won't be getting one

You should go to breeders or rescues and spend time with the pugs so she can see them and see how she likes them. ANY good breeder or rescue allows this.
