Can I buy things from USA's Amazon if I am from the UK?

I live in the UK and I want to buy something from www.amazon.com (rather than www.amazon.co.uk), and I was wondering if I could?

I also have £40 worth of amazon vouchers, can I use that to buy what I want from amazon.com?

    I'm sure you can.

    I'm in US and I have bought from Amazon UK before. Because a book I wanted came out there before here.

    Have you tried? Would be simple enough to go on the website and make an order and see if it works.

    And keep in mind the money exchange. When I bought from UK - I was charged the conversion from dollars to pounds. So you would be charged the conversion from pounds to dollars.

    I would imagine you can use the Amazon vouchers to buy things from Amazon.

    They wouldn't work anywhere else, would they?

    Yes but goods ordered from outside the EU over £15 will be charged 20% VAT plus a customs charge when they arrive in the UK so be warned.
