Can someone with PAD Please answer?
I want to know what it feels like. They pain and how it makes you feel emotionally. My Mommy has PAD but she never really talks about it. She just says ouch sometimes and then sits down and looks upset. But she won't talk to me about it. Sometimes I think when my nieces and nephews are over she feels depressed an overwellemed but she continues to play even though she is in pain to put a smile on their faces. She tells me it tough to not play with them because she would rather hurt than not play with them even though she can barely walk. Please give me the in site so I know how to help my amazing mother.l

Your mom needs to go to the cardiologist and have a scan done to see if she has a clot somewhere. My mom (may she rest in peace) had this also. It is a build up of plaque in the arteries. Not a good thing. She needs to change her diet and lower her cholesterol numbers. If this plaque should break off, she could have a stroke or heart attack.
The doctor will do an ultrasound of the arteries leading to the abdomen and legs. Also have him do a carotid test to see if she has blockage in the coronary arteries. That is a sure sign if positive.
When we would walk together she would get a pain in her calf area and would have to stop and rest. Pls. have her see a doctor. I hope everything turns out okay.
