What is a good website to display my writing on, for feedback, and for people to see it?
Well, I am going to write a few short stories because I'm bored (and I like to think of myself as a writer), and I've started writing a full length novel, which I hope to complete, and have published one day (I'm in no rush though).
But I was to put the short stories somewhere, where they can be viewed by other people. Also, I want some feedback and criticisms and comments, because I'm a firm believer in not sugarcoating things too much, and I want to know what people think of my writing, and how they think I could improve. Also, if you recommend a site, I want one that WON'T claim any ownership of my work. That would be VERY annoying for me...
Multiple sites are fine, I don't mind putting up my work for 2 online communities to see, if the websites are particularly good. Also, it would just be easier to give my friends a link to an online copy, if they want to read my work.
Thank you all...maybe now I can finally start to earn the title "writer". Right now, I just don't think of myself as one. I am afraid of becoming another annoying teen, writing bad stories and fan-fiction, and I feel like I need to validate myself somehow. I aim to eventually publish a full novel, and my teachers all think I'm a great writer, but until I finish writing my novel, I'd like to write a bunch of short stories, and put them somewhere for everybody to see. And who knows? One day, I might submit them to a magazine or a competition, or something.

Fictionpress.com is all I can think of, but it would be better for you to join a community writing group....

There are a lot of websites or forums where you can actually put up your writings for people to read and comment. :) one i have in mind is Wattpad. It's like a community website where you can upload your stories, and have a book cover, and description to attract people to read your book! It's pretty great as it involves votes and comments, if your stories are great, you might even get messages from readers of their lovely ideas on your chapters! And if I'm not wrong, there's "Watty Awards" that you can sign your book up for! I'm not so sure about this, but you sure can find out from its website! :) well good luck!

Hello! :) here is a nice website a LOT of people read on it (including me) : http://www.wattpad.com/ It's really famous, and great to reach a target audience. You can click "Create" or "Join in" and start posting your stories. I only read there, and there is a massive audience who loves to read & give feedback. You can also simply connect to it by Facebook.

It's free to sign up and post. It's perfect for short stories! There's writers new and experienced, some have even had their works published. You can get feedback/comments on your work and get it rated. If someone really enjoys it, they'll favorite it and possibly subscribe to you.

Well, all I know is http://wattpad.com/ but there is this social networking site-ish site that has a forum for original stories. Maybe you could post it there and MAYBE people might give you some feedback, I am not that sure though for that forum is a slow moving one and I don't think much people are interested in them but there are some, including me!
