How to fix my damaged hair?

Washing my hair, I noticed that recently,

I've been pulling out at least 8 strands of hair every time simply for running my hand through it.

I'm starting to notice that it feels thinner, too.

I dye my hair every two months and I feel like I should just revert back to my original color and try to fix the damage.

I don't know.

Do you know of any kind of shampoo or remedy?

  • If you use conditioner, I suggest you don't run it all through your hair. Only do it on the hair that flows, not on your scalp, which will make your hair look dirty and damaged.

Also, yes, I suggest you stop using the dye for now. If it still does it after the dye is all out and it's back to your original color, then that wasn't a problem.

shampoo works by changing the Ph as does conditioner I use conditioner only except for once a month I do not use mousse or gels as they tend to cause the hair to snap off

eat fish or high protein diet for strong hair but if your not eating right or have bad heath the hair shaft that grew during that time can be weak and easily broken off.

Some people have naturally weak hair, and should avoid most all products

your hair shaft will have a life span and it kicks out the old and starts a new shaft, permanence, and some coloring products can kill off 5 to 10 hair shafts with each application that you never regain

Coloring your hair every 2 should not cause your hair to start falling out (provided you are following package directions). If your hair feels brittle and is actually breaking off, use a deep conditioner or reconstructor from professional product line (yes it really makes a difference). If your hair feels average, use a lighter conditioner (go into any salon and they will make a recommendation). Lastly, keep in mind that the average person loses approx 100 hairs per day.

Coconut oil is what you need, and perhaps argan oil added in will benefit you as well. My hair was as you describe. I recently began a coconut oil treatment. I recommend getting a conditioning cap of somekind that will stay on while you sleep. Start with dry hair. apply the coconut oil in tablespoon sized amounts starting at the scalp. I like to work the fisrt tablespoon in and massage it all over my scalp, then add smaller amounts as needed until I have covered all of my hair from root to tip. Then I put on a shower cap and leave it on overnight. the next day I wash it out, it may two washes. I saw what seemed to be a 90% reduction in my "bad" looking hair. The dry and frizzy stuff was laying down nicely for the most part, and I had a nice shine to my hair as well. I highly reccomend the coconut oil. Also I have heard that co-washing can be good. That is where you wash your hair with conditioner. I have not tried it yet but I think it will next on my list of ways I can maintain my hair.

Color safe shampoos help to keep your color. It's best to use those. You can't revert back to your original color if you've used permanent hair dye. It will just have to grow out over the years. Consult the advice of a professional hair stylist.
