Can't remember old cartoon fantasy movie?!?

This is absolutely killing me. I remember renting this movie on VHS from my library when I was younger... It was probably made in the 80's or 90's. I don't remember a lot about it. It was a cartoon and I remember there being 2 main characters (one being a girl, the other may have been a boy, but was definitely younger...) that end up visiting this fantasy world. It may have been in their backyard or something. Towards the end I do remember them playing with butterflies. Eventually they return home. I really don't remember much more than that. The movie had a lot of pretty colors, and I specifically remember there being ice melting in the beginning or something. I know this isn't very helpful, but any movies you could think of would be appreciated.

oooh geez, what became into the call of that comic strip. It became into like little squirrels or something. i won't have the capacity to think of of it and now it is going to malicious program me, so in case you think of of it or get and answer please enable me be attentive to. i think of that the animal that attempted getting them became right into a weasel or something
