for me it was the Patriot Act.
I specifically remember saying to myself these exact words; yeah uh, I don't like it but it will only be for 5 years.

Opened eyes are great. But they are useless without a leveled head.
Your one perspective is valid. Bad things have been done. But are you really sure you're getting the entire picture? Denying the good because we don't have the perfect is not a good way to live.
Eyes open. Head level. Most people have half of that. With the other half, things start to make sense. They really do. Im not saying they are good. Im not saying they are bad. Just that they start to make sense.
And knowing what you're dealing with is a prerequisite for successfully shaping events.

You mean like for the most part being socially responsible?
No doubt you can find instances where bad decisions were made by bad people in government. But that simply means that you have been complacent in preventing harm. Take some responsibility!
